Mythic Motherhood

To all the new mamas, seasoned mamas, and grandmamas, come share stories. Wherever we are in our journey of motherhood, each of us has embarked on a transformational journey. We faced the insurmountable, faced our own mortality, and emerged changed. We’ve undergone transformation. Yet, there are few rituals and containers to ease us through the transition. We hold baby showers, christenings and classes. But the birth of our child, is equally the birth of the mother. Myths and fairytales speak of this transformation and all its excitement, joy and sadness.

Through reflection, facilitated discussion, and storytelling, we will tell our birth and motherhood stories, hear fairytales and myths of motherhood and share how becoming a mother has transformed us.
